Grab some comfy clothes, a pair of walking shoes, a backpack , and some water to keep you hydrated because this weekend, the Association of Philadelphia Tour Guides will be offering a completely free 12-hour tour of the city!
“The Great Tour”, will be led my some of the top guides who know every detail about the entire city. Participants will take part in a four part tour that will lead them to over 50 of Philadelphia’s most historical sites and landmarks. Although the event is 100 percent free, participants must register in order to ensure a spot because space is limited on this tour.
The tour will begin in Old City, where participants will check in at the National Constitution Center and will then visit 15 different attractions around the area including the Free Quaker Meeting House, the Betsy Ross House, and Elfreth’s Alley. For the next portion of the tour, participants will be taken to Society Hill, where they will examine George Washington’s Federal Capital and 20 other historical sites. Once they reach the third part mark, participants will continue to explore Society Hill and visit City Hall, Midtown Village, and Market East. The tour will wrap up at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, where participants will be lead through several landmarks including the famous “Rocky Steps”.
The event will run from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th.
