According to the NPD Group, the U.S. now has more Internet-connected devices than there are people. There are 425 million gadgets such as smartphones, tablets and gaming consoles connected to the Internet in the U.S and 311.5 million Americans.
Laptops and desktop devices are still the primary way for Americans to search the web from home, but the more convenient gadgets are diminishing the computer’s relevance.
In 2013, the number of Americans using the “shared screen” experience is projected to grow. The shared screen experience is when you stream a movie or photos from your smartphone or tablet onto the TV.
With each year companies are creating faster and better technology that Americans feel like they need to get their hands on. Old gadgets go forgotten in a household when new ones are bought. In a matter of time more and more bookstores will go out of business, as e-readers become the primary source of delivering information to each upcoming generation.
