Widener University is partnering up with a local coffee company in order to launch their own environmentally-friendly coffee. The new coffee will be called “WU Brew,” and is said to come out on April 22, in celebration of Earth Day.
Students and professors from the University traveled to Costa Rica in order to learn about environmentally friendly ways to produce coffee. The new coffee will allow students to put their newly obtained information to work.
Those interested in purchasing the coffee can order a 12-ounce bag for $13.99. Purchasing the coffee will help support research and service-learning opportunities in order for Widener students to work with farmers in Las Lajas. Owners also offered to donate a portion of each bad sale to the students.
Dark roast and medium roast coffees will be available for those interested.
