Restaurant gives 5% off to customers who disconnect from their cell phone

Cell phones have become a big part of everyone’s life, even during dinner. You often see someones cell phone either in their hand or on the table in front of them.

But one restaurant in Los Angeles is offering their customers a 5% discount if they can disconnect from their phone for a whole meal. Eva Restaurant is offering customers 5% off of their meal if they can leave their phone with the receptionist for the whole night.

The offer has been in place for about a month now and since then nearly 40% to 50% of the customers were able to disconnect for the night.

The restaurant is ran by Mark Gold and his wife Alejandra. The idea came to them very randomly when they were discussing how annoying it is that people constantly communicate on their cell phones.

The policy is written right on the menu’s for customers to see.

Would you be able to disconnect from your phone for a whole meal?
