New dentist device helps patient’s who fear needles

According to the American Dental Association, nearly 20 percent of Americans have an extreme fear of the dentist. Being scared to even make an appointment is fairly common, but a new medical device will help reduce dental anxiety.

Dental Vibe is created for patients who can not stand the thought of pain and needles. The device looks like an electric toothbrush, but when applied to a patient’s mouth delivers fast signals to the brain to block pain. All patient’s feel in their mouth is vibration when a Novocaine shot is being done. The vibrating sensation travels faster to the brain than the Novocaine pain.

All dentists had before was topical pain reliever to help the discomfort of the needle, but for some patients that still wasn’t enough. No one enjoys getting needles.

So far the feedback from patients about Dental Vibe has only been good.
